According to Islam, it is believed that science, spirituality, and humanity are supposed to work aqueously; so that there is no such debate as the one Deepak Chopra participated in.

“Science is but a perversion of itself unless it has …as its ultimate goal the betterment of humanity.” -Nikola Tesla, 1919

That is what Islam, through Hadith, had prescribed for humans 1200 years earlier. I’m sure Nikola Tesla quoted this from the Islamic sciences.

I recommend reading or studying the history of science and its development in the Islamic civilization, much of what we know today is rooted in the Islamic sciences. If anyone would like me to refer them to any sources regarding Islam and Science let me know. Peace.

Excellent article Boss, that was really a great read.

The “depression in sports” conversation is finally gaining momentum as prominent people in the sports field shed light on the situation and open-up about their stories. Given the tragedy that struck the NHL over the summer, losing 3 players to depression-related overdoses, Managers and Doctors are finally beginning to investigate the causes/effects of this illness and how it relates to athletes.

The problem is, it’s an invisible disease that only makes itself known when someone comes forward and admits they have a problem. Given the stigma associated with mental illness in pro sports, many athletes are too proud to admit something is wrong. The consequences of that practice can be devastating.

I think a new wave of awareness and respect for mental illnesses will wash over pro sports and become the next hot-topic discussion amongst sports executives. It will certainly be a point of interest for the speakers at the Prime Time conference, I look forward to hearing your views and opinions on the topic in November!

As a scientist I can say for certain that spiritual forces exist in much the same was as the other laws of physical nature . It is a wonderful time in the history of man to study the and understand the” laws of Spirit”.
Thank you for this post Brent . Very valid material. Many of us debate Steven Hawkins Science vs . our own personal Spiritual realities and find the same questions as Deepak has for science unanswered.This debate is very real .

You are truly what would have been called a Renaissance Man in past generations. Twenty years ago you would have been called New Age.
But you are so much more than any label can express.
Mind, Body , Spirit ….Brilliant Intellectually, Gifted Athletically, Gifted Artistically and still humble and in touch with your Spirit ….which is who, you really are.
